SHIMMILICIOUS 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Everything you ever wanted to know about shimmies from the shimmy queen. Technique, Drills, Combos , Layering & Traveling, culminating in a short choreography.
FINGER CYMBALS 1:30pm – 3:30pm
These ancient musical instruments are the ultimate accompaniment for a skilled dancer. Techniques for delicate playing and attention grabbing performance will be covered. All basic rhythms, combinations and a short choreography. Cymbals will be for sale at the workshop.
FAN VEIL 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Jehan will make all your FAN-tasies come true! For the past few years she has explored and innovated new moves and designs with this mesmerizing Chinese dancing fan, teaching and popularizing it world wide. Fan Veils will be for sale at the workshop.

Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, NYC, a beautiful new mecca for dance and performing arts , located at 248 West 60th is the new home for the TEMPLE OF JEHAN, offering classes in a variety of different styles of bellydance taught by Jehan and a staff which includes many of New York’s finest professionals and guest teachers from around the world. We are all very excited and we hope to serve, inspire, & be inspired. We also offer daily an intense Bellydance Fitness class for early risers.

As High Priestess and Oracle I listened and in the year 2000 created Goddessdance, an Off Broadway show that resurrected and released a message for this age –the god /goddess intertwined in harmony … exploring the history of spirituality back to the source, honoring the Divine Feminine in us all through deeply sensual dance and an original score. Creative Imaginative Bellydance from original Fusionista, Jehan, and guest teachers from around the world Whatever your fantasy you will find it in this class. Jehan will have teachers with different expertise and styles merging bellydance with other movements and music genres. ranging from hip hop to goth, bollywood , gypsy and heavy metal to techno trance and beyond… All teachers are rooted in excellent traditional Middle Eastern dance technique and have taken it to the next creative level. Imagination rules !
EGYPTIAN STYLE BELLYDANCE
Focus is on the popular Egyptian styles and trends from the last hundred years. In addition to the joyous sexy and playful pop music of today, dances to classic music and choreographies from Egyptian bellydance movie stars will be covered Earthy folkloric dances and the rhythms so important to the roots of this style of bellydance, will be covered.
